A year ago my brother sent me an article about whales doing something cool and the first thing I thought was, “thank you for thinking of me.”
I love when people reach out with videos and news articles about stuff that remind them of me. Even strangers send me insightful articles about art and nature and honestly, I’m just grateful I was a passing thought that reached your conscious mind. A thought strong enough to get you to reach out to me.
I try my best to reach out. After a few tough weeks I’m getting my groove back and now have the energy to do so.
This is my way of doing it.
This piece is about Kelping, an amazing phenomenon happening where whales use untethered seaweed floating in the ocean as a means of exfoliation, playtime, and connection with other whales. We’re not really sure exactly why they do that and make silly little seaweed hats, but a study done in Australia proved that at least four different species of whale interact with seaweed in a positive, playful way.
Once again, observing nature proves that there is still so much to learn, all the time. We’re not the only species evolving. Every living thing around us is doing the same thing. That’s a really incredible thought and feeling. One that proves we’re not truly experiencing life alone.

Each piece is made with love and printed with care, created using archival, fade-resistant pigment inks and high quality paper to ensure the most vivid, detailed, and long-lasting print. Individually proofed and signed by the artist, Jess.
Prints are gallery standard fine art prints. If you are interested in a commission for a similar piece or, indeed, any other commission please also contact me via me contact page.
Shipping Info
When Do I Ship Prints:
Sometimes I create the prints the moment I receive the order. Once you place an order we will try our best to dispatch the prints as soon as we can, but please allow up to 2 weeks for processing and shipping. Please allow up to 2 weeks for deliveries in the US and up to 3 - 4 weeks for international orders. When shipped, you will receive an email with your shipping tracking number.
Ready to ship product:
Some products are ready to ship! These types of orders are processed once a week. Orders placed by the end of the week through the following Tuesday will be packaged on Wednesday and shipped by Thursday! Please allow up to a week to arrive.
International Orders:
Please note the duty/customs taxes and/or fees for international orders. Not only do these vary per country, but they are also the buyer's responsibility. Each international order will have the required customs form labels. In these customs forms, they will include the contents and purchase prices of your item(s).
~ 4"x 6", 5" x 7", 8.5" x 11", and 9" x 12" prints are packaged in a protective sleeve with matte backing. These are shipped in sturdy flatmailers.
~ Anything larger will be carefully rolled between protective pieces of paper and shipped in a sturdy mailing tube.
~ If purchasing only stickers, they are shipped in an envelope.
~ Framed originals will be carefully packaged to ensure a safe arrival. Canvas painted originals may be rolled up and sent along with its canvas stretcher bars.
~ Clothing will be shipped in a small box or soft mailer.

Returns & Refunds
You have 30 days from the date of purchase to return any product. For undamaged goods, they must be returned in perfect condition and in the original packaging. Shipping costs are non-refundable.
Please contact me directly if:
- Order arrived damaged
- Package has not arrived after 6 weeks.
- If you are unsatisfied with your order, you may seek a refund. Full refunds will be processed after the item has shipped back and received. Return shipping is at the buyer's expense.
- There is a 15% restocking fee that will be deducted from the refund.
- If packaged arrived but not picked up and was sent back to me, I will gladly ship it back, however the shipping cost is at the buyer's expense.
If there is damage to the order upon arrival please send photos to jess@soriano.studio to be reviewed - all orders are carefully packaged and sent with love.
